1993 kx125 forks...any good or waste of time??

Hi,
Im keen to to the fork conversion on my 2004 kdx200,and i can get a free,1993 kx125 rolling chassis,its got everything bar the motor.I know its got the 43mm upside down forks though,would there be any point of doing the conversion to 43mm u?Would it be way better than stock?or should i hold out for some 1996 and later ones(46-48mm).
Any thoughts???
