top of the fork leg is 55mm
lower clamp area 58mm
chrome slider area 46mm

Nope. The 2002 forks are 48mm. The 46mm are an earlier model.

many thanks skipro.

it seems amazing that earlier model forks (99-01) have the same part numbers as 2002 but have different diameters.

Great site (Bike Bandit).

BikeBandit states the same OEM part number for these front forks (02 and 99).

BikeBandit part numbers for these forks are different as you say Fuzzy.

SO, why do differnt part numbers exists for the same OEM part number?

Besides measuring diamter, is there anywya else these parts can be identified?
