Newbie w/questions on front conversion

Hi all. New here but not new to Kawasaki. I recently bought a 2002 KDX220 for my son. I've read that a great upgrade is to hang a front end from a KX250 on it. Some questions that may save me some research time:

1) Would a front fork and triple clamp assembly from a 2003 KX250 work on my 2002 KDX220? Better yet, what year(s) KX forks will fit my bike?
2) Is the swap a direct bolt on or are there other mods required (machining of parts, etc)?
3) I'm guessing I'd also need the front brake setup from a KX or am I wrong? Will my KDX brake setup bolt up to the KX front end?
4) Any other tips or parts lists you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

$350 for the "ready to bolt on" forks/wheel is a GREAT bargain . . . I set my 220 up via piecemeal, part-by-part Ebay purchases, always looking for the lowest cost and spending a lot of time figuring out what years match what parts, and so on and so on . . . and I spent that much.

Re: 'Will my KDX brake setup bolt up to the KX front end?'

Rotor won't. Caliper (and hi-route brakeline as noted) will.

I second what jeb said. Mine cost me 350$ including all the shipping charges and oil and seals and bushings but my forks only cost 1$ on ebay.

350 is a heck of a deal, specially as a straight bolt on!
