Yes but are your upper and lower clamps the right distance, like are they the factory distance when using that as a space?

They are in the "clampable" part of the upper tubes and the top triple is up in the stem threads. It works for me. Make sure and measure how high your front end is before you take the KDX fork off so you can try to set it up the same height.

Last year when I did my KX fork swap I noticed I had almost run out of threads when I tighten my spanner nut down, so this year I bought another spanner nut and milled it down untill I was left with a collar. I used the collar underneath of the spanner nut right on the bearing.

That'll work.

Re: 'Yes but are your upper and lower clamps the right distance, like are they the factory distance'

There isn't one that I know of.

A plus to using a thicker spacer (as long as you don't run out of thread on the TOP nut) is the forks can be moved higher...and just about every KX fork setup needs to be high in the triples to keep the bike at the same 'level' orientation it was to start with. My '99 KX250 forks are 1/2" above the top clamp to make the bike 'level' as it was to start with.

Going 'uphill' with too long a fork (or them set too low in the clamps) makes for loopy problems on uphills..and that is generally enough of a problem without making it worse.
