Supposedly from the manual..supposedly for a '99 (46mm forks).
14.5in/lb on the
right **edit**wrong...both in ft/lbs
16.3in.lb on the
left
Please don't ask why...I have no idea on the left/right part. Neither did the guy that gave me the info.

inch - pounds?? What are these measurements for, meaning what part / bolt / upper? lower?
My 1994 USD forks have higher torque on the lower than the upper.
If it is triple clamp, then the only think I can think of is brake caliper side causing more twisting torque.

Figures listed were for the triple clamps..top and bottom RH being different from top and bottom LH.
Sorry. I muffed the in/lb part. Wasn't thinking of anything related to forks and or clamps when I wrote it. Indeed it is ft/lbs.
...lot of that going on of late.........
Apologies.

So both rights are 14.5 and both lefts are 16.5? Maybe that side had the horn and reflectors, too.
That's pretty interesting that they are different. I don't remember ever hearing of that before.

I torqued mine to the specs given for the stock KDX forks out the manual. I think 14.5 top and 16 bottom, or maybe 18 bottom. In the manual anyway. And that ought to be close enough, since I doubt the factory sent them out torqued correctly.

'Cause you make more left turns on a MX track!

That's pretty hard to buy CC... Who told ya? Like Ski... I used the specs for the KDX forks... I don't think they are going anywhere.
Buy a manual and let me know what it says... K?

What I am concerned about is the binding issue if the bottom clamps are too tight. I think the bottom on the 'H' IS 18ft/lb.
Probably not a whole lot to worry about. It's not like getting them too tight by two ft/lbs is going to make your bike 3' taller or anything....

I will use your off kilter specs tonight and see if stiction goes down... doubt it though.... Where'd I put that step stool???

Well... didn't use your scale but torqued to bottoms to 13.5 lbs and the tops to 18. Stiction went down considerably. This is a step in the right direction I believe!
And yes... the bike did drop more... thank GOD!
