kx125 conversion shim question

Post by bhorocks »

looking at my install it is a really good fit on the stem. i don't see how a shim is going to even fit in there! maybe i'm wrong but it looks pretty snug.. anyone have a pic of how theirs looked without the shim? and what it looked like after?

thanks.

Does the year of the wheel match the fork?

Depends on the clamp size....

Honestly... I would keep the wheel... sell the forks and look for 01 - 03's

I would sell the whole thing except the wheel.... 43's are what stock KDX forks are... meaning you will still have spagetti handling.

these things are double the size of the kdx forks. but i agree.. i think they are going back up on ebay. kinda sucks though all that money spent and now i have to sell the stuff off again!

thats what i get for not paying attention and secondly i have a bike laying in parts still!

The lower tubes on the inverted are what is important... those are what is 43mm.... same as the stock KDX uppers.

Good deals can be had...so keep your eyes open... the bright side is that you already have a wheel and have the bike ready to install them! :supz:

Yeah... if you buy the same year forks... they are not interchangeable between year. Those uppers and lowers will not fit 96 forks or 03 forks and even those are different. You need to match the years or you will end up with parts that don't work together.... kinda like what you have right now.
