The 93 KX forks are identical to the 94's aside from valving and springs. They would be a fine upgrade for your KDX. Keep in mind that unless they have been serviced recently they most likely are going to need an oil change and seals at the minimum and most likely bushings as well.

I'm seeing a fair amount of KXF forks on Ebay. Any reason they wouldn't work on our bikes?

They should work just fine with the appropriate clamps and such.

I missed a set of '04 inverts (I think they were '04's...I deleted it from my watch list after it ended), that went for $175. I'd kind of like to at least get the clamps w/ the forks so I didn't pull the trigger. I sold my streetbike last night, so now I got a little play money. It burns.....

I stopped at a local bike shop today and got a line on a complete '05 rmz/kxf frontend. I asked him what was complete. He said everything from the gas tank forward (wheel, caliper/rotor, forks, clamps, m/c/lever). Sounds too easy. Whatta ya reckon would be a fair price for that setup? He said to bring him my triple clamps and he could tell me if we could make it work or not.

P.S. Rode about 11 miles this evening, trying to do the break-in thing, keeping it between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle, varying the range, not lugging, yadda. Seems a bit weak. I remember my other KDX back in '89 would want to loft the front wheel when it was coming up on the pipe. I haven't noticed it at'all on this one. I know the jetting reeks, doesn't want to carburate cleanly until it comes up on the pipe. I think it can run better w/ a little tuning. The neighbor came over and said it sounded like a warshin' machine. :? He could hear the kips over the exhaust. I think it sounds kinda cool....tick tick tick tick tick
