Triple tree question
I am putting the triple tree on my bike. It is from a 1998, the forks are from a 1999. I checked kawasaki and the numbers are the same. I am having a problem with the bottom part though. When i tried both triple trees, the forks seem hard to get it, is it suppose to be like this. I mean i can probably spread the bottom enough to get the forks in but i was just wondering if it is suppose to be that hard.

Ryan - a stubby flat blade screwdriver placed in the split between the tt bolts is usually all you need to spread a tree to get the forks to slide in. Using a stubby screwdriver to do this also allows the screwdriver to be wedged and stay in position allowing you to perform the work by yourself. (A longer screwdriver will generally be harder to have stay in position due to "law of leverage" according it CC.
