These are 2nd hand but in good shape. Retail for about $400- for the pair Brand New. The suspension does make a BIG Impact on how you can ride.

A knee brace that was 'like $450' are likely Asterisks. I never ride without mine.

Five minutes is a huge deal. Besides like, the less tired part is even bigger. If you're on a six lap 75 mile HS but bail on lap five because you're beat..well, they guy with the forks (in this case) WINS!

Good deal!

For those interested in putting '02 KDX forks on a '95 KX 125, the top bearing cone (needles, cage, inner race) that matches the KDX stem to the KX outer race is Timken # 07097. No seals or shields on that.
The KX outer race (cup, the bearing guys called it) is Timken #07205. That should be common to both the KX and KDX, top or bottom.

Just to keep things in perspective, I ride with some A riders and they'll beat that time by 10-15 minutes , I guess, maybe more. When I finally show up they'll be lounging under a shade tree.

So..it's not a matched set? The bearing and outer race are separately ordered/purchased items?

I didn't think 'they' did that ..mix-n-match parts like that.

re: perspective.

The last HS here abouts had a course about 15 miles long. The AA guys rode six laps...in just bits over two hours. That's about twenty minutes a lap. It was 80% single track the first day. They did it all over again the next day, just backwards.

Anyway, I didn't race..rode a few sweep laps looking for dead riders. I wasn't trying to go fast, but I wasn't dinking a whole lot either. My lap times ran about forty minutes.

That has nothing to do with any comparison with your 'loop'..I'm sure it's apples and oranges. My point is the AA guys make most riders look like snails. I don't know how they go so cotton pickin' fast!

**edit**
Those numbers don't seem at all right. It would be good to get my story straight..still..they were all dang fast!

Yeah, they are seperately ordered.
One cup is used for several cones, the difference in cones being the ID or shaft size
Decide what you need for a cup O.D. and what you need for a cone I.D. and see if it can be done.
As near as I can tell it cannot for putting the KX stem through the KDX upper bearing mount; the ID/OD are too close together.

mOrie was nice enough to send me a.jpg of the .pdf I'd sent him of the bearing cup I'd had made.
I just wish he would post it here somewhere, I sure can't figure out how :?

I don't know how those guys go so fast either, and I'm kinda glad I can't. I like my body intact.
Those A guys were averaging 45 mph. Thats a fast HS

Back on topic... although I've kinda lost track of what it was.......

The two dimensions that are critical on that part are the 2.042 where the bearing cup goes and the 1.570 which should fit the through hole in the old bearing pocket.
The other dimensions can be adjusted according to the bike's needs.
I made the pocket for the bearing cup .5 deep so it would be flush at the top when pressed in. The .56 was worked out so the nut had an appropriate amount of thread on the stem. At first I had it at .60 but the nut would only get 2 threads. I had to bring it back and have a bit more taken off.

Here is a depressing development in my grand plan

The KDX with KX forks is a done deal and is a great ride

The KX with my old KDX forks ain't going to happen. I've bent the lower KDX TT in my "halfhearted" attempt to push the stem out. The fork legs miss the holes in the top TT by ~1/4" and the fork legs are forming a 'V', 1/2" wider at the top than the spread on the top TT

Looks like I'm in the market for a set of KX forks for my KX.

Any body want a complete KDX front end, minus lower TT?
