triple tree q?

Post by Ryan »

I am looking at some 99 forks. I bought a triple tree for a 98 becaus it was cheap and i was planning on getting 98 forks. The bottom clamp's have the same part number for 98 and 99 but the upper has 2 digits differnt. Can anyone verify that the triple tree off of the 98 will work or not work with the 99 forks? thanks

Dude... if the forks are the same diameter as the TT's... your set!

Same deal if they were 1920 forks and 2006 TT's. If they were the same diameter... they would work....

Google it or research it at buykawasaki.com

alright, i did my research and came up short on one thing. I have the pivotworks rebuild kit for 97-98 kx forks. I am looking at 99's. I had a well know guy "MX Turner" tell me the seals and bushings would fit the 99. I looked at buykawasaki and the numbers were differnt. Do you know if the seals and bushings will fit. I dont care as much about the little rubber washers as much as if the seals and bushings will work.

Seems to me that they would market them to include 99 if they work on 99's. Right? :?

Knock-Knock.... ??? Any one home??????

97-98 means 97-98! Not 97-99....

If you are still confused... email or call the manufacturer.

Nice sleuthing there, Ryan. You just answered your own question!! Internet is so handy to research answers to questions, isn't it?

Inda, another "fact" to add to the KX/KDX fork swap data base.

alright, no worries, i got the triple tree for $10.50 and the forks for $31.00. It cost me a total of $70.00 for everything shipped. So now i just have to have the forks vavled, cleaned and then put back together. I will write up a rider report after i use them in about 3 weeks.
