I believe I came up with a new way of stopping the forks from hitting the gas tank. Works great, easy to do, looks good and its cheap. What else would you want.

Looks nice, I think i'd rather clearance the tank though and not loose the turning radius.

I chose two steel strips to apply to my frame stopper, but one strip would of worked. However, the forks would be very close to hitting the gas tank. The nice thing about this approach is you can adjust it based on the thickness and number of pieces of steel strips you use. I did not measure how far from hitting the gas tank the OEM forks were, but I assume it was a quarter of an inch. That's why I made it the spacing I did.

I was originally going to mount it on top of the frame stop. But it was one of those moments when the obvious became apparent. The top of the lower triple tree clamp stops just barely hit the frame stop. And there was a lot of room to mount the metal under the frame stop. Thus, thats why I did it.
