USD fork reassembly question

Post by m0rie »

I'm working on reassembling my 94 KX forks. I took the compression assembly apart by flipping the fork over and compressing it then using the impact wrench to pull out the compression valve. Can I put the valve back into the pushrod assembly the same way by assembling the rest of the fork with the spring and then using the spring tension to hold the pushrod assembly while screwing the compression valve back in? Or do I need to make the fork holding tool (castle looking deal) from some pvc?
