Ive tried to read through as much info as poss on here...there's so much that mu tiny bird brain is fried.
am I right in thinking, that if I get hold of a det of KX500 forks, the original KDX caliper and wheel are compatible with the forks? just need to pop the KDX steem out and press into the KX500 bottom yoke..correct.

caliper yes, wheel and axle no. You will need to source them from a kx125/250/500 in the same year range. When I did this swap on my old KDX, i reused the KDX caliper with the 500 forks and i believe the wheels came from a 250 IIRC
