Does anybody know if an rm front end will work?

Give it a shot, the more possibilities for front end conversions the better.
If you can get a good deal on it, you might be able to sell it recovering most or all of your losses if it doesn't work.

Don't forget to put some anti-rejection medication in the fork oil or you may get stranded on the trail!
