Dam spring rattle!

Post by Kdx kiwi »

Hey guys,

i have just rebuilt and installed a set of 01 KX125 forks on my 97 KDX
they look the biz and preform way better than the stok ones.

Only one problem..... The dam things are ratteling and its pissing me off!

Its the fork spring touching the inner tube so i know its not a huge issue and it does not effect the preformance, but has anyone had any luck
Sorting this problem?

And just coz all posts should have pics.....

Dam spring rattle!

When do they rattle? The spring should have some sort of pre load on it so I'm not sure how they could rattle.

They are out of the bike and if u give them a wack on the side you can hear it, i have heard it being a common problem, more on road bikes.
This is the first time i have ever experienced it though

Maybe its just coz there are off the bike and have no load on them.......

If they are laying on the bench fully extended then, yes, they probably rattle. Shouldn't be an issue once they are bolted up and weighted.
