OK, you have the forks "in hand" also, correct? Test fit the 2003 clamps on the 2001 forks. Do you see how the lower clamp is too big? The 1997 clamps will fit similarly. Just to be sure, I am not saying that it will fit EXACTLY the same. I am saying it will fit similarly, as in "too big". That is what I meant by "too big". The 1997 upper clamp is "too small". When you get them, and try to test fit them, you will find that you would need a hammer to gouge up/beat them down over the top of the 2001 fork tube.
