Sorry, but that is indeed what I would like to pass on. Sure, you can shim them up/have them bored out, etc., but as far as fitting as designed, then "no", those won't work. In the thread where skipro3 and I were kidding each other, I suggested that you buy a set of 1999 - 2001 clamps. I don't know if you missed that, or were just focused on what you thought was right or what. In another thread, KDXr pointed out those clamps you just won, and when he asked would these work for you, I replied "FLAT OUT NO".
It seems you are focused on 46mm or 48mm. 46mm is the forks' inner tubes' diameter. The clamps do not clamp on the inner tubes. They clamp on the outer tubes. From 1996 - 2001, the OD's of the outer tubes changed a few times. Since you said you won 2001 forks, that is why I suggested that you buy a set of 1999 - 2001 clamps.
I hope this helps.

I'll give you $20 for both of them. See, there is always a bright side.
Does what I was talking about in the earlier posts make sense? I can explain it further if you want (everyone screams nOOOO)

I makes sense, but can it work-YESSSS
I'll see how the 97 fits up and then I'll decide what I will do next. The KAW Site froze when I was checking part numbers and the page did'nt refresh like I thought it did. Thats how I made a mistake with the numbers. But they may bolt up fine. I don't now yet.

I am glad that you tried to get proper fitting ones instead of fooling with the 2003 ones.Jason wrote:1997 is too small/too big
Did you already get the 2003 clamps, as in arrived at your house?
Thanks.
EDIT: Sorry if that sounds confusing. I know that you won an auction for the 2003 clamps. Have you already received them? Thanks.
