Just picked up a 96 RM 125 wheel, forks and lower triple for $75. Now I'll need to pay more than that just for the upper triple. I think from what I have read, all I need to do is press in the KDX H series stem, mill down the lower triple 3mm and shim the top of the stem for the Rm upper triple. Is that it? Do I use both KDX upper and lower bearings?

KDX stem and bearings. If you can mill the 3mm then do it but I have done 3 sets with out the milling. best woods light motorcross forks ever made IMO

Don't you have to take off the 3mm for the steering stops to line up?

Just realized the 3mm was for the E series, or are they the same for these purposes?

I bought some MSR spacers for the 96 wheel axle and forks, but turns out the wheel is garbage. I just bought a wheel and forks off a 98rm. The Suzuki parts fiche shows the exact same part numbers for the 96 98 spacers axle and hub. MSR and Pivot works have different part numbers for the 96 and 98 spacers. I'm confused. I would like to use the 96 axle with the 98 wheel and use both the 96 98 forks. Anyone?

Maybe check oem parts for comparison parts numbers? Like on rmatv.com, or cmsnl or the like.

I'm working on doing this swap on my 92 e series. Have all the parts, except wheel only came with one axle spacer. Is the 3mm shave necessary or not?

Yup. Otherwise I don't see how u could line up the steering stop.

I just made the RM lower clamp the same thickness as the Kdx lower.

I had to think about this for awhile. Duh! That makes sense now. What did you use to shim the upper?

I may not be remembering this correctly, but isn't the axle actually the spacer on one side of those forks?

It's really looking like that! There's a little lip on the big end that fits right into the bearing seal. Doesn't seem like it would be of much help to space the fork away from the hub, though? I'll have to put it all together and see.

How did you get the Kawasaki front fender to fit the Suzuki triple clamps?

I bought the Moose spacer kit and it came with two spacers, one is about twice the length of the other.

Wonder why the lip is on the thick part of the axle then..

I'm not really sure how it all works together either. I put it all together quickly but didn't have time to see whats what yet. It's super cold in the garage and I haven't had much time. I know when I checked the parts diagram for the front wheel their was an extra piece that I don't have.

I looked it up on cmsnl. There are two spacers. Haven't figured which goes on which side, but I've got replacements on order.
