94 YZ Fork on 93 KDX 200

Post by frenche200 »

Hello! I found a good plan on Ebay for a 43 Kayaba fork (with triples)from an YZ 94 to swap on my E5 ,I wish I had your review:
1) IS this fork have settings such as on a KX 93 for example (I can not find information) or not more than my current fork (I can not reach the seller and the sale ends soon ) ?
2) do you think I can keep the triples of YZ and press as explained in many topics, or will me it was necessary to find KX triples?
3) my brake caliper can it be mounted on this fork?

Many thanks!

I am using those same forks on my 89. A nice improvement over the stock forks. Yes, they have rebound and compression adjustment. I had to have a machine shop bore the hole in the lower triple slightly, and the upper triple required a bushing/sleeve to take up slack around the KDX stem. Not sure on the caliper, but I don't think so. I used the YZ caliper and front wheel as well.

Well, I think I have more interest to continue to search for a 91-94 KX fork: I know the calipers are the same as E5-E6 KDX , and it may require less work adaptation i think...

Thank you very much!
