Thinking about doing the kx500 front fork swap and have a few questions.
What year should I get for the kx 500 fork swap? As far as I know I need the whole front setup. Forks, brakes, caliper, and the wheel and hub. Do I need anything else?

Brake caliper will swap over, you need the trees, forks, wheel and axle for this conversion.

Re: Kx 500
Motocross forks on a trail bike often benefit from a revalve.
If the forks are longer than the stock forks, then one has to pull them up in the clamps and deal with any problems that causes. Otherwise, the KDX geometry is thrown off. It is not a true chopper, but hopefully, you get the idea. Travel limiting spacers would help. It is my opinion that it is the way to go on longer KX forks.
