I know, they are both USD and both blue...which is why I'm interested.
I had my USDs rebuilt and re-sprung and it made a world of difference...BUT....they are still KDX forks (same internals as the 95+ forks?) Very similar to KLX forks.
If I do this conversion, would there be any really noticeable difference? (I would have the KX forks serviced and tuned of course).
I really want to make the bike a little "sleeper" with upgraded forks, so staying with the Blue USDs would be cool...if it is worth it.
My 97 KX forks (on my H) are great and kick the crap out of the 94 forks...so I wouldn't mind upgrading from the KDX forks.
92/93 KX forks vs. 93/94 KDX USD forks.

The '92-93 KX forks are a huge step up from the blue KDX USDs (I own both).
They were generally considered the best forks of the era. But that wasn't too difficult, considering how harsh the Showa USDs on the CRs and RMs of the early 90s were with stock valving.

Re: 92/93 KX forks vs. 93/94 KDX USD forks.
The KX forks have larger diameter outer tubes, 43mm vs. 41mm.
One difference is the larger cartridge, 25mm vs 20mm.
A big factor is the more modern style of valving vs. the KDX inverse shim method. Tunability and performance are a fair amount different.
