Buying KX 500 forks
Hi I was wondering if I'll need the triple tree of a kx 500 to mount some kx 500 forks on my 91 kdx. I'm not 100% on the year of my bike but came to the conclusion it is an e series... 89-94 right? Any insight on price would e helpful too. I've read that the KX 500 forks convert real easy. Would my KDX wheel fit in there too??? any help would be awesome thank you

Re: Buying KX 500 forks
Apparently the forks aren't stock on this bike I'm looking at, they are Clevenger. The guys says it was perfect for his 500, had the stock wheel on, wondering if i should be concerned.

Re: Buying KX 500 forks
They are stock forks, they have just been reworked by Clevenger Suspension. He used to be out of Tacoma, WA then moved down to Tumwater. Was a mainstay in the NW off-road/flat track world and did stellar work. Haven't really heard much about him the last few years, don't even know if he's still in business. The short of it is that they are KX500 forks and the forks/triples are a direct bolt-on. I don't think you can use your KDX front wheel though, have to use a KX wheel IIRC

Re: Buying KX 500 forks
Awesome Thank you, I think I'll be buying it 100 bucks 2moro maybe I'll see what his wheel is going for too. Should I have anything to worry about with his wheel being too tall possibly? I think I'm just worrying too much about it, just want to make sure everything is kosher and I'm not wasting my money.

Re: Buying KX 500 forks
Front wheels are the same 21 in on both bikes. Have heard nothing but praise from the guys that went that route vs the KX125/250 way. $100 for forks/triples is a good deal

Re: Buying KX 500 forks
Dont wanna thread-jack ya... but I just so happened to get me a front end off a 94 KX5-hundy. What should I do about the wheel? Should I ask the guy if I can buy the front wheel from him also? Or would it be possible for me to use my front wheel with the help of a spacer or two? Id really love to be able to keep the odo if at all possible... but I am wayy more worried about better handling than I am that thing.
