looking good
are you going to look for a gold rear rim aswell now?

did you fabricate new steering stops aswell ?

and finally, are you planning on attaching the brake line any different?
the way it sits now it is liable to get caught in the spokes ;)

Looks like that front end was made to be there. I wouldn't worry about your front brake line, I have mine mounted excactly the same on my 03 and has not been a problem after three years of riding. One thing you might notice is that that brake line guide might get in the way of the bracket when forks are completely compressed. Enjoy your new handling!

the side stand is mounted in that location due to it being the SR model, you could probably google some pics of it.

great looking conversion, trying to get kx500 forks over here in the uk is like trying to find rocking horse poo!

diymirage, yes gold rear will be added to balance the look . no steering stop mods required right side plenty of room and left side has a fly's **** room(big fly's down under).brake line is tight but will keep an eye on it thanks.
skippypinecone, yeah your'e right about the brake line guide the pic doesn't show it but its already busted when i bottomed the forks of a tabletop

dude541 kx500 forks are even rarer over here with less than 24 million people. i bought mine on e-bay from the good old of USA $150 pair+shipping $40 tripple clamps. couldn't press buy now fast enough.

When we go riding all my mates have the latest bikes rmx450 kxf250 ktm300 rm450z husky310 gasgas450 i get to ride all these bikes because i can't keep them off mine. seriously i would not swap it for any of these bikes and is a relief to get back on the green machine.

Nice, I was unaware of the RM guards. I just feel like I need to be running guides for the fork guards tho. You haven't had any problems?

I have had no issues. The RM fork guards are thicker and much more rigid than the KX guards. Also provide much better coverage around the lower fork.

Mine were the '05 RM 250 not RMZ. Doubt there's any difference though.

I would guess there is some difference. 2004 - 2006 RM-Z250 was made by Kawasaki, so the RM-Z fork guard is the same as a Kawasaki 2004 - 2005 KX125, 2004 - 2006 KX250, 2004 - 2005 KX250F fork guard. The RM250 had Showa forks and KYB on the Kawasaki/RM-Z.

I think 2006 saw the KX250F and KX450F get the guide-less guards, with the 2007 KX250 following suit.
