Screwed up? KX wheel question.

I am slowly working on getting a KDX rim laced to a KX hub to install when my KX forks go on (the KX rim was cracked and a KDX rim was available). But, not being the best at thinking ahead when I dive into something new, I didn't take any measurements on the KX wheel assembyl before I took it apart. As I have been researching how to do this lacing thing, I learned that I should have taken an offset measurement in case the hub is not exactly centered in the wheel assembly.

Does anyone know what the offset measurement should be on a 2001 KX125 front wheel, or have that wheel on their bike that could take a quick measurement for me? I'd really appreciate it! The manual does not list a spec.

If my understanding is correct, offsets are only on the rear wheel and not the front.

I think you will have an issue with the spoke size. And any real off set will be determined by the spoke length.

rbates, you're right. I did have an issue with the spoke nipple size. See here

I drilled the rim to accept the larger nipples based on input here and on TT, as well as some web research I did. It seems like a pretty common practice.

I can see that differing spoke lengths could force the hub to a rough location, but you still need to "tweak it in" to a final offset dimension, right? Thanks for any clarification.

If you want to find out for sure if there is an offset then I would contact one of the wheel manufacturers and ask them. I guarantee that they know. Also, you could post up on KXriders.com and TT as there are lots of KX owners on both forums.
